UK Catalysis Hub and SCN Joint Workshop

31st October 2025

Join us for a dynamic and collaborative sandpit-style workshop jointly hosted by the UK Catalysis Hub and the Solar Chemicals Network. This one-day event is designed to bring together researchers across disciplines to explore new frontiers in solar-driven and sustainable catalytic processes.  Through a series of short talks and interactive breakout discussions, we aim to spark collaborations and develop project concepts around shared research challenges.

Discussion themes include:

  • Photosynthesis: Natural to Artificial – Overview of the biological and synthetic landscape

  • State-of-the-Art Electrocatalysis – Designed for non-electrochemists to discover new approaches. Translating electrocatalysts in solar driven devices.

  • Bridging Research Communities – Integration of photoelectrochemical, electrocatalytic, organic, and plasmonic science

Covering topics including:

  • Water oxidation – translating active catalysts in solar driven materials

  • Light driven N2 reduction – Sustainable strategies and current challenges

  • Photo- and electrocatalysts for waste to value products – including biomass, pollutants

Venue: MR1&2, Research Complex at Harwell, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Harwell Campus

Fermi Avenue Didcot Oxfordshire OX11 0QX
